The why, our approach & the team behind The Well

WHOLE PERSON, WHOLE FAMILY, WHOLE COMMUNITY

The Well boldly acknowledges the mental health crisis and challenges we face. Viewing the needs of people from a systems perspective approach, The Well provides high-quality care for people who can’t afford it. With this approach to building community partnerships, we ensure that they are equipped with the proper resources and feel empowered to provide care to those they serve. We develop holistic wellness programs, by partnering with agencies along the way to more effectively meet our goals and produce positive outcomes.

Why the time is now

Over the past year, The Well of Restoration, Inc. (TWOR) has experienced significant growth in both reach and impact, while remaining grounded in its mission to provide trauma-informed, faith-based, holistic mental health and wellness services. During FY 2024–2025, TWOR expanded programming across courts, schools, recovery centers, senior communities, and faith-based spaces throughout Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties.

TWOR served over 560 families across its programs and reached more than 744 community members through outreach events, presentations, and wellness initiatives. This growth reflects increased trust from community partners, expanding vendor relationships, and demonstrated outcomes across youth, family, recovery, and early childhood populations.

Our approach

The Well has adopted the Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual Model in our approach to whole wellness. This is a holistic approach that acknowledges the interaction between physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects to patient care and patient well-being (Beng, 2004). With this, The Well places emphasis on assessing and treating a person from a holistic perspective, conceptualizing the person and their physical and mental health needs within a social context. We also assess how they are affected by their environment and how their spirituality influences their overall sense of well-being.

This is important to understand what's beneath the surface of one’s pain and suffering. Research has provided evidence that the complexities of the interactions between the physical (i.e., biological), psychological, social and spiritual aspects of the client’s lived experience and the need to assess and intervene in all four domains.

In the spirit of obtaining optimal health and wellness as a whole, genuinely holistic health care must address the totality of the person's relational existence physically, psychologically, socially and spiritually.
